PTLC__OnLine

Welcome to PTLC_Online.  The purpose of this site is to maintain contacts between phoneticians around the world who are interested in the teaching and learning of phonetics in all its guises.  The Phonetics Teaching and Learning Conference has been running now since 1999 and it is clear that there is sufficient interest to warrant the establishment of an online community to provide a way of exchanging news and ideas between the biennial meetings of the conference.

This site is maintained by John Maidment. I would be very grateful for any comments or suggestions on the design of the site, any features you would like to see added (within reason!), and any goofs you have spotted.

The success of this venture of course depends on the activities of its members, so please visit often and tell your colleagues around the world of the latest developments on your patch, ask questions, chat, have fun.

The site should be fully functional in any up-to-date browser: Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, MSIE.  You will need a Unicode font to be able to read some parts of the site and the UCL Phonetic Keyboard would also be a great help in inputting phonetic symbols in your forum posts.

If any of your colleagues who are not members would like to join, please ask them to send me an email at j.maidment@ucl.ac.uk and to supply a username and password so that I can enrol them.
