The lowest <a href=\"http:\/\/blogjam.name\/sid\/?page_id=807\">intensity <\/a>that a hearer can detect at each of the test frequencies is recorded. The responses are plotted relative to a standardised curve for normal hearing.  Ideally, a normally hearing subject&#8217;s response curve should be a flat line at 0<a href=\"http:\/\/blogjam.name\/sid\/?page_id=828\">dB<\/a>.  In practice, response levels of 20dB or less are considered normal.
