Transcription
All phonetic transcriptions use IPA symbols in a Unicode font. Transcriptions are marked by using bold, navy blue characters, thus: ˈɑːdvɑːk. Brackets are not generally used unless it is essential to distinguish phonological from phonetic transcription, the former being enclosed in / / and the latter in [ ]. See for example the article on conditioning factor.
