:Alveolo-palatal:

Pronunciation GB: ˌælviˌəʊləʊˈpælətl also alveo-palatal ˌælviəʊˈpælətl,
GA: ælˈviːəloʊˈpælət̬l also alveo-palatal ˌælvioʊˈpælət̬l.

The name of a place of articulation. The International Phonetic Alphabet contains two symbols so labelled, both fricatives: ɕ ʑ, voiceless and voiced respectively. There is some dispute over how exactly to characterise such articulations. One suggestion is that they are palatalised postalveolars.
